Eastern Meadowlark. The
Eastern Meadowlark has been the most challenging bird for me to capture
with a good quality photograph. I've come to think that they mock
me with their "See-you, See-eee-you" calls, but then don't reciprocate
and allow me to see them. They sing from fence rails and posts,
and from the tops of trees. But they are shy and quick to startle,
making it difficult to set up the camera without the movement scaring
the bird away. Central Indiana - July 6, 2008 |

Eastern Meadowlark. This happy bird sang
at the top of his lungs from the top of a maple tree. I'll be
watching all the coming spring and summer for better photo
opportunities! Central Indiana - July 14, 2008 |
